DR. BEENA KURIAN BDS
Dr Beena Kurian has been practicing all aspects of general dentistry for many years and has taken over the management and ownership of the long established dental practice from Dr. Ivan Young in November 2014. She graduated in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Oxford Dental College, Bangalore in 2007 and successfully completed her Australian Dental Council Examinations after relocating to Wollongong in 2010.
Beena is a confident and caring professional, who takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and provides treatments according to their needs and budget. She has a track record of providing a whole range of dental treatments to patients of all ages in maintaining their optimal oral health. She believes in the importance of keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in dentistry and has attended numerous hands-on courses on different branches of dentistry such as Cosmetic Dentistry, Periodontics, and Oral surgery. She is interested in all aspects of dentistry but has a special love for paediatric and cosmetic dentistry. Being a kind and approachable person, she makes everyone at ease and comfortable.
Beena lives with her husband and children in Illawarra and looking forward to continue the long tradition of quality dentistry along with team at Dapto Dentists. In addition to English she is well conversant in Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Along with Shinu Joseph, she involves in various community upbuilding projects both in Australia and India. Outside of dentistry, Beena enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

DR. PAT PANDEY
Patanjali (Pat) Pandey is a caring, experienced and approachable dentist with over 15 years of clinical expertise in looking after the oral health of people in both private and public sector. Pat started his career in dentistry after his graduation of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2004. In 2008, Pat relocated to Australia with his family and worked for Oral health services in central Queensland, then as senior Dental officer at Hobart Hospital and in other Private practices prior to joining Dapto Dentists. Academically, Pat has completed Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in 2009 from University of the Western Cape South Africa and achieved his Membership of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Sydney (MRACDS) in 2016.
Pat adopts a person-centred approach and recognises that visiting the dentist may be stressful and appreciates the importance of being relatable, compassionate and welcoming, while providing a high level of clinical and surgical care to his patients. Having worked closely with Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and obtaining MRACDS he has expertise in minor oral surgery, wisdom teeth including impacted and surgical extractions. Pat is well versed in all aspects of general dentistry and has special interest in non-traumatic wisdom tooth removals, RCT and smile makeovers. Pat is committed to continuously providing the best care for his patients by being the forefront in the latest developments within the dental profession and sharpens his skills by regularly attending professional development programs.
Pat lives with his family in the beautiful city of Wollongong. Pat owe a deep sense of gratitude to the community that he belongs so he is involved in various smile projects organised by Dapto Dentists with the goal to make dentistry more accessible and affordable to Dapto Community. Apart from being a dentist Dr. Pandey loves to travel, enjoy food, follow cricket and spend time with family and friends.

DR. MOHIT TOLANI
Mohit has been an exceptional dentist, community volunteer and an excellent example of an admirable leader who, in addition to undertaking professional development studies and leadership commitments ranging across nationally, has selflessly devoted his time to various career and community initiatives. Mohit graduated as a dentist from Griffith University in the Gold Coast. Academically, prior to commencing post graduate Dental studies at Griffith University, he completed a degree in Medical Sciences with Honours in Pathology at The University of Sydney and more recently, also completed a double degree of Master of Public Health and Master of Health Management from The University of New South Wales. After finishing his dental education, Mohit worked as a hospital dental surgeon at Goulburn Valley Health hospital in Shepparton, rural Victoria gaining a myriad of dental clinical experiences; enjoying all components of general dentistry.
Given the fact that dental patients are scared and fear to see the dentists, Mohit tends to engage with the patients creatively at a one on one personal level. No matter which field or industry, the essence of novel dental techniques and concepts drives him to further learn and investigate, leading to its productive implementation. For example, Mohit implements motivational interviewing aiming to increase the motivation for preventative dental health management. Mohit’s simplicity in discussing treatment plans, together with guidance for long term oral health management is thoroughly appreciated by the patients. He is hard working and efficient and aims to achieve the best possible outcomes in critical situations demanding extra care. He has a pleasant and an outgoing personality which enables him to communicate well with both staff and patients in addition to his good sense of humour.
Over the past few years, in addition to undertaking full time work, extra professional studies and research work, his contribution and growth within the dentistry discipline has been appreciated due to the constructive difference it has made to the healthcare, indigenous students’ education, multicultural enrichment, professional development and youth leadership. He has undertaken and convened several dental charitable initiatives and community service projects making a difference both locally and nationally. Some of his recent notable acknowledgements include The University of Sydney Young Alumni Award, Griffith University Outstanding Young Health Alumnus of the Year Award, Goulburn Valley Young professional of the Year Award and more recently, both the national and state of NSW Pride of Australia Medal. In his leisure time, Mohit likes to explore restaurants of different cuisines and visit new places with his family and friends.

Dr. Omar Ahsan
Dr Omar Ahsan is an experienced Dentist who has been working in the Dapto and Wollongong area for the past many years. He is a member of the Australian Dental Implant Association, and Australian Clear Aligner Society. He strives to provide dental care with a person centred approach holding true to his core values of predictability, precision and excellence. Ahsan is friendly, approachable and is always willing to listen to his patients about their dental health and provide needed treatments in a gentle and compassionate way.

Omar provides dental care ranging from simple fillings to complex implant restorations; root canal treatments to crown and bridges; wisdom tooth extractions to clear aligner orthodontics. He has a particular affinity for cosmetic dentistry, including smile makeovers, whole mouth rehabilitation and clear aligner orthodontics. Dr. Ahsan actively works towards simplifying complex dental treatments to enable patients to make informed treatment choices.
Omar lives with his young family and away from dentistry he is passionate about nature, motorcycles, and mental health advocacy. He is a part of the Lost Motos initiative and participates in the annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride which raises mental health awareness within the motorcycle community, as well as the wider community all around the world. On days with a good offshore he likes heading out on his longboard searching for that perfect wave!
DR. AMY MIN
Graduated from Griffith University in Gold Coast in 2017 with a Griffith Award of Academic Excellence, Dr Amy Min is a gentle, caring dentist with a passion for delivering high-quality dental care to patients of all ages.
Prior to joining Dapto Dentists, Amy worked in busy private practices in Gold Coast and Sydney.
Amy is passionate about providing all aspects of general dentistry and has a special interest in orthodontics and cosmetics dentistry. Amy has further attended education in advanced dental treatments such as orthodontics and implants. Dr Amy has completed the International Academy of Advanced Dentistry in Implantology and is currently undergoing a Graduate Diploma in Orthodontics.
Dr. Irena K. Stojkovski
Dr Irena Kostoska Stojkovski Graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2017. She has been working in dental practices in Australia and abroad in different roles ever since. Irena is skilled in all areas of general dentistry and her mission is to provide comprehensive dental treatment to all patients in an environment that is safe, reassuring, pleasant and comfortable. Her patients of all ages appreciate her caring and approachable personality.
Irena strives to be the best in dental care and takes a lifelong approach to learning and education. She continuously seeks out training and professional development opportunities that allow her to remain aware and knowledgeable about new dental developments and the latest technology that would help her excel her patient care. She believes that prevention, early detection and intervention result in the delivery of the best and long-term care for her patients. In addition to English, she is well conversant in Macedonian and Serbian.
Irena lives in Wollongong with her husband and children and is looking forward to continuing the long-term tradition of provision of quality dentistry with Woonona and Dapto Dentists. Outside of work, Irena enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and exploring local restaurants.
Dr. Farah Diba Tahity
Dr Farah Diba Tahity is a dedicated and devoted dentist, who has been practising all aspects of general dentistry for many years. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2013 and has been in dental care ever since both abroad and in Australia.
Farah has a track record of attending to all dentistry aspects, including preventative, restorative (fillings, crown, bridge, inlay & onlay), cosmetic dentistry, paediatric and emergency treatments – RCT and extractions including wisdom teeth removal. Dr Tahity has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry; hence she is currently doing a post-graduation diploma in Prosthodontics and dentofacial aesthetics from the International College of Dental Practitioners, Sydney.
Farah loves to connect with people as she believes that “Comfort and trust is the most important thing in treating a patient”. Thus, she tries to make her treatment environment as comfortable as possible with the proper amount of time and patience to listen and talk to her patients. This compassionate nature and caring attitude of Dr Tahity make even anxious patients and children at ease in her care at Dapto Dentists.
When Farah is not at Dapto Dentists, she loves spending quality time with her husband and family. She loves travelling, listening to music, home decorating and cooking.
Our History
Our story actually starts over forty years ago in 1975 when Dr. Ivan Young joined as an associate dentist in a Wollongong dental practice founded by Dr. McGovern. As a team they established a good reputation as a trusting family dentist serving the Illawarra region. Later in the early 1980’s they established another dental clinic in Woonona.
In 2014, Dr. Beena Kurian and Mr Shinu Joseph took over the ownership of Dr. Young’s share in both the Wollongong (Kembla Street) and the Woonona practice located on Princes Highway. Together they formed Woonona dentists at 379 Princes Highway, Woonona.
After Dr Young retired in 2016, Dr. Beena Kurian along with her associate dentists continued the tradition of providing a blend of quality dental care at affordable fees.
