Your First Visit

What to expect, and what to bring, at your first appointment.

Please bring your health fund card if you have private health fund cover, along with details of any medications, medical conditions or allergies that may be relevant.

If you have recent dental X-rays or records from another dentist, you are welcome to bring them along or arrange for them to be transferred before your visit.

03

Fees, Health Funds & Payment

Clear information about costs, health funds and payment options.

The cost depends on the type of appointment and the treatment required. The team aims to provide clear information about fees before treatment proceeds.

Where further treatment is recommended, the expected costs will be discussed with you and a treatment plan provided where appropriate. General fee information is available on our fees page.

04

Nervous Patients & Comfort

A calm, comfortable visit, whatever your history or preferences.

Absolutely. Please let us know if you feel nervous about dental treatment. Our team can take the time to explain what is happening, answer your questions and work at a pace that helps you feel more comfortable.

If you have had a difficult dental experience in the past, you are welcome to tell us when you book, or speak privately with your dentist at your appointment.

05

Dental Emergencies

What to do when you need urgent dental care.

Yes. If you are experiencing toothache, swelling, a broken tooth, dental trauma or another urgent dental problem, contact Dapto Dentists as soon as possible and we will do our best to arrange an appropriate appointment.

An urgent appointment may focus on assessment, pain relief, stabilisation or referral, rather than completing all treatment on the day.

General Questions

Practical questions about visits, records, parking, accessibility and accreditation.

The ideal interval varies from person to person, depending on your oral health, medical history and risk factors.

Following your assessment, your dentist will recommend a recall interval that is appropriate for you and let you know when to book your next visit. For many people this is around every six months.
